We’re expanding our remote sensing capabilities
We’ve expanded our software development skills within the remote sensing domain. Our latest hire, Maciej Miernecki, adds a unique skill set to our team.
With a stronger capacity to create algorithms related to satellite data processing, we will be able to apply the domain knowledge to better implement custom software development projects commissioned by the European Space Agency and those related to disaster management.
Maciej joined our Warsaw office in April 2020 to support these projects. He will also support our space technology project which recently secured funding from the National Center for Research and Development: Natural and man-made disasters response support system generating geoinformation obtained from automatic analysis of optical and radar satellite products.
Remote sensing is often used to analyze satellite data in a way that allows to automatically predict natural disasters, such as floods, and visualize their extent as well as areas they are going to affect, helping to better prepare for them. As a remote sensing expert, Maciej will maximize our capacity to develop custom software that uses remote sensing in the public sector.
Maciej holds a Ph.D. in geophysics, obtained as part of the Remote sensing group at the Institute of Oceanography of the University of Hamburg. He is now working on a post-doctoral project at the Centre d’Etudes Spatiales de la Biosphère (CESBIO), Toulouse, France, as part of which he is developing an algorithm based on Artificial Neural Network for down-scaling passive microwave data using SAR radar imaging.
Maciej codes in Python, Bash and Matlab, and is familiar with Java and C++.
Welcome to our team, Maciej!
